Amazing news swamishishu!
I have dreamed of the day when I could say this: Mahan is safe! And I’d like to thank you for making this happen. |
The Coal Ministry has confirmed that the Mahan coal block WILL NOT be put up for auction! swamishishu, you know it has been a tough and long fight. For four years we’ve gone ahead undeterred to ensure that the rights of the communities of Mahan are protected. We have been intimidated; our voices have been gagged and absurd lawsuits have been filed against us.
But we, as Junglistan stood our ground and won against all odds! Let’s celebrate by leaving messages of support on Facebook for Mahan. |
Share your joy for Mahan! |
Last month, the Environment Ministry declared Mahan forests as a no-go zone for mining. And now, because of Greenpeace supporters like you taking action, Mahan is saved!
Over the years, you took action online and offline. You sent emails to ministers, joined demonstrations in 120 cities, and became the voice of Mahan in your community. And for this, all of us at Greenpeace and the people of Mahan thank you! |
Join the celebrations for India’s forests! |
Cheers,
Brikesh Singh Greenpeace India |
